"Lunchtime Travel" Irish native Andrea Doherty will host a trip through the rural backroads of Northern and Eastern Ireland. Doherty will introduce you to the Ireland very few tourists get to see as she shares her first-hand knowledge of Irish customs, culture, history and crafts. Program is free and open to all.

"An Irish Tea" Celebrate St. Patrick's Day with Irish native Andrea Doherty as she teaches you the preparation of her Blue Ribbon award winning Irish Trifle and demonstrates how to properly serve an Irish tea. Registration begins on Saturday, Feb. 27. Bring your own teacup and spoon.

Film showing: The Contender The library will be showing the film, The Contender, a thriller that will take you behind the scenes of Washington's political power plays.Starring Jeff Bridges, Gary Oldham, and Joan Allen. The film is rated R. Children under 17 must be accompanied an adult.

Defensive Driving Course The library will be holding two Defensive Driving Courses. Upon completion of this six-hour course those attendees who are primary drivers of a vehicle will receive a certificate entitling them to a 10% reduction in their auto liability and collision insurance premiums and a reduction in the number of points currently on their licenses as a result of traffic violations. Registration necessary at Adult Reference Desk.

"An International Musical Menu" Vovalist-pianist Shelley Shields will perform an international cabaret of music filled with the rhythms and melodies from many lands.Tickets will be available at the Reference Desk starting Sunday, Feb. 25. Limit 4 tickets per family.

Annual Book Sale The library will holding its annual book sale on Saturday, March 3 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m.. This two-day sale will feature adult and children's books, magazines, audio books and a lot more.

"Only on Sundays" is the name of the new books program. A selection of new adult, young adult and children's books will be introduced for your perusal and enjoyment in the library's community room. It is a great opportunity to meet other local book lovers. Refreshments will be served.

Craft program with Jeanne Hall. Come and create a special penguin puppet. Tickets are free and are available at the Children's Desk starting Feb. 1.

African-American History Month Craft Celebrate African-American Month in a workshop to create the "Peace Windsock," which features doves of peace and a profile of Martin Luther King, Jr. Tickets are free and available at the Children's Desk starting Feb. 1.

Glitter Stationery Workshop join artist Joanne Insinga in creating stationery glitter. Each participant will go home with his or her own professional looking stationery with matching envelope. Registration begins Feb. 26. $2 fee.

Dixieland Jazz Concert at the Freeport Memorial Library. Michael Kohn's Dixieland Band brings back the classic sounds of Jazz, featuring some of the best musicians in the New York area.
