Stained glass exhibit. Stained glass artist Bill Hergenrother will display his work at the Rockville Centre Public Library. A recently retired engineer, Mr. Hengenrother's retirement afforded him the opportunity to pursue his long interest in stained glass art.

Lyrics and poetry workshop. Join songwriter Melvin Glazer in a creative workshop where you can learn how to structure a poem into lyric and, in turn, into a song. Mr. Glazer will utilize top of the chart songs to illustrate important creative steps. His songs have been recorded by Etta James, Elvis Presley and others. He currently teaches song writing at Hofstra University, St. Johns and Queens College.

Computer fundamentals.The Rockville Centre Public Library is currently registering residents of the RVC School District for five three-hour computer fundamentals courses. Instructor Cecilia Hearn will use her mobile computer lab for the course, which will instruct participants in the basics of Windows, Word 2000 and the spreadsheet program Excel. Ms. Hearn will also demonstrate the use of e-mail and the Internet. A desktop publishing segment will offer instruction on using a digital camera, scanner and graphics programs. A $50 non-refundable fee is required and registration is limited.
