Beach Breast Cancer Coalition Lend A Helping Hand
On-going program that "lends a helping hand" to women from Long Beach and surrounding communities who are diagnosed with breast cancer and presently undergoing chemotherapy and/or radiation. If you know someone who would be helped by this service, please have them call 897-1344.
Disabled adults support. The St. Charles Hospital and Rehabiliation Center Auxiliary sponsors a monthly support group for men and women who are physically disabled. The support group meets on the second Thursday of each month, from 1-2:30 P.M., at the St. Charles Rehabilitation Network office at 201. I.U. Willets Road, Albertson. Bereavement Support Group. On Thursdays from 2:30 to 3:30 P.M. in Conference Room C at Long Beach Medical Center. The Medical Center's Counseling Center will offer a weekly bereavement support group for individuals dealing with the death of a family member or loved one. National Depression

Weekly Depression Screening Long Beach Medical Center's Counseling Center is offering free, weekly walk-in screenings for persons experiencing depression. The screenings will be held on Wednesdays from 2 to 3 P.M. and include an interview with a mental health professional. Pre-registration is not required. Long Beach Auxiliary Police. A recruitment drive for the Auxiliary Police is currently underway. Since 1940, The Long Beach Auxiliary Police have assisted the regular police department, serving as extra eyes and ears on the Long Beach streets and helping with traffic and crowd control during local emergencies and special events.
