School Board meeting to be held at the District Office, Hastings Street.

Read-To-Me Club for children 4 through kindergarten with a parent or caregiver. Registration required and begins June 1at Children's Desk.

Special Events


Fine arts & crafts sale will be held at the St. Mark's United Methodist Church, 200 Hempstead Avenue. Admission: $1 for adults over 16. Free raffle. Refreshments for sale. All items for sale will be hand crafted including: decoys, jewelry, woodworking and paintings, Irish photos, bird houses, and pottery.

Arts and Entertainment


Musical: Phantom, produced by The Gray Wig players at Hofstra University's John Cranford Adams Playhouse. Phantom features RVC resident Craig Woythaler. Tickets are $22, $20 for seniors and non-Hofstra students; all proceeds benefit Hofstra scholarships.

Toning for two classes for pregnant women who have completed their first trimester, or post-partum women beg. 4 weeks after delivery, Program includes low-impact aerobics and relaxation training. Classes are monitored by a licensed physical therapist and held at Mercy's Physical Therapy Facility, 128 Atlantic Avenue in Lynbrook. For more info call 705-2630.

Ballroom Dancing instruction and practice.
Mondays: 12 PM
Food shopping for seniors who need assistance getting to and from local groceries. Volunteers provide transportation from the Center.
Tuesdays: 9:30 AM
Exercise program includes aerobics specifically geared toward seniors.
Tuesdays: 1 PM
Yoga is taught in the "seated" position, making movements easier.

Religious Services


Computer instruction for all levels.
Thursdays: 9:30 AM
Bridge lessons will be given at the start of the center's fall schedule. Linda Pickens, an experienced and lively bridge instructor is known for her enthusiastic and fun teaching style. Take this opportunity to brush up on techniques and renew old skills. Educational materials are provided.
