School Board meeting to be held at the District Office, Hastings Street.

Special Events



Town Carnival will be held by the Oceanside Chamber of Commerce at the old School #1 property, on Foxhurst Road, across from the Salamander Hook and Ladder Firehouse in Oceanside.

Thursday, Saturday, August 24-27

Senior citizen dance to be held on Thursday, August 24 from 7:30 to 9:30 P.M at the South Shore Y/ JCC, 15 Neil Court, Oceanside. Will feature live music and snacks. Tickets $5 members and $7 non-members.

Kiwanis Club meeting held weekly at the Coral House on Milburn Avenue. Food and weekly speaker.

Rotary Club meeting held weekly at the Coral House on Milburn Avenue.

Arts and Entertainment



Musical: Phantom, produced by The Gray Wig players at Hofstra University's John Cranford Adams Playhouse. Phantom features RVC resident Craig Woythaler. Tickets are $22, $20 for seniors and non-Hofstra students; all proceeds benefit Hofstra scholarships.

Ballroom Dancing instruction and practice.

Food shopping for seniors who need assistance getting to and from local groceries. Volunteers provide transportation from the Center.

Exercise program includes aerobics specifically geared toward seniors.

Tuesdays: 1 PM



Yoga is taught in the "seated" position, making movements easier.

Wednesdays: 10 AM



Computer instruction for all levels.

Bridge lessons will be given at the start of the center's fall schedule. Linda Pickens, an experienced and lively bridge instructor is known for her enthusiastic and fun teaching style. Take this opportunity to brush up on techniques and renew old skills. Educational materials are provided.
