Musical: "Phantom," produced by The Gray Wig players at Hofstra University's John Cranford Adams Playhouse. Phantom features RVC resident Craig Woythaler. Tickets are $22, $20 for seniors and non-Hofstra students; all proceeds benefit Hofstra scholarships.

Community garage sale, hosted by the St. Marks United Methodist Church of RVC, 200 Hempstead Avenue. To participate, or for more information, call 766-2080 (days) or 481-8524 (eves). $20 donation per space. Table rentals available at $5 each.

Theater presentation by the adult education and Sisterhood at Temple B'nai Sholom, 100 Hempstead Avenue. This production entitled, "Mr. and Ms. Manners go to Shul," is free and open to the public.

Fine arts & crafts sale will be held at the St. Mark's United Methodist Church, 200 Hempstead Avenue. Admission: $1 for adults over 16. Free raffle. Refreshments for sale. All items for sale will be hand crafted including: decoys, jewelry, woodworking and paintings, Irish photos, bird houses, and pottery.

Spotlight on Seniors

Carnival at the Center will include games, prizes, refreshments and a whole lot of fun. Seniors are encouraged to bring grandchildren or young friends. $2 admission.

Closing.The Center will be closed for one week for vacation. Some staff will be on hand for emergencies.

August 28-September 5

Art Exhibition.The artwork of Adele Kraetz, a former Sandel staff member. Ms. Kraetz' body of work is largely figurative and has appeared in a number of juried art shows. She has been awarded several prize ribbons. Interested members of the community are invited to meet the artist, view her artwork and listen to a discussion of her work at a reception to be held on 9/17 at 2-4 P.M.

Lunch for Chris Amato.Seniors will show their appreciation for the efforts of retiring village trustee, Chris Amato, on their behalf. All are welcome. Call for reservations.

Friday, September 8: 12 PM

Bridge lessons will be given at the start of the center's fall schedule. Linda Pickens, an experienced and lively bridge instructor is known for her enthusiastic and fun teaching style. Take this opportunity to brush up on techniques and renew old skills. Educational materials are provided.

Men's club monthly meeting will feature guest speaker, Lawrence Levy, in September. Mr. Levy is a member of Newsday's editorial board and an award winning columnist in the paper's Viewpoints section. His weekly column focuses on local and state politics and suburban issues, particularly those affecting the poor and children.

Exhibit: "Around the World," is a series of photographs by Freeport resident Budd Sasloff. An avid traveler, Mr. Sasloff has photographed landscapes and street scenes from "Hong Kong Harbor," "Louisiana Bayou," and "Quebec City." The show is on view in the lower level art gallery.

Summer chess club for young adults, grades 6-12. Play for fun and get tips from chess master Joel Salman. Six sessions.

Toning for two classes for pregnant women who have completed their first trimester, or post-partum women beg. 4 weeks after delivery. Program includes low-impact aerobics and relaxation training.
