"Passport" To Summer
Apply for your family's passports on April 17 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. and visit the Town of Hempstead's mobile passport van located across the street from the Oceanside Library.
Extended Basic Computer Skills
Beginner students will learn basic computer skills and operations including mouse skills, keyboard techniques, Internet surfing, and file management applications such as saving and retrieving files. The five-Tuesday program starts April 14 from 10-11:30 a.m. There is a $50 registration fee.

Child ID Program
The Island Park Civic Association will be sponsoring a child ID program at the library on April 4 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Parents can come and get an ID for their children free of charge, as well as a DVD with info and photos of the child. In case anything happens to the child, the DVD can be given to police officers who can then use it to broadcast an Amber Alert. Senior citizens can also come and get IDs.

The 46th Annual DOCA
Roller Skating Show
Come watch kids from Oceanside strut their stuff on the roller rink to the theme "skating in Vegas." The shows, co-sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Oceanside, are on March 26 at 5 and 7:30 p.m., and March 27 and 28 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets for the March 26 shows are $5, and $7 for the shows on March 27 and 28. Tickets are available at the Department of Community Activities office beginning March 16 at 125 Merle Ave. in Oceanside.
Kiwanettes Fundraiser Luncheon
The Kiwanettes of Oceanside will host their annual fundraiser luncheon on March 29 at the Rockville Links at noon. The cost is $37 per ticket. The luncheon is the only fund raising event of the year and the funds raised are returned to the community by way of charities, scholarships, holiday gifts for seniors and the underprivileged in the community. Join the Kiwanettes for an afternoon of fun including music, a dance presentation, raffles, a Chinese auction and a 50/50 raffle; all this while honoring the Oceanside Volunteer Fire Dept. Bereavement Support Groups
COPE, a grief and healing organization dedicated to supporting parents and families living with the loss of a child, holds monthly support group meetings on the first Wednesday of every month for parents at the Oceanside Jewish Center. The next meeting will be held from 7:30 - 9:30 p.m. on April 1. COPE also plans to start up sibling support groups on Long Island. Second Night Community Seder
The Jewish Center of Island Park, 191 Long Beach Rd., will host its annual Second Night Community Seder on April 9 at 6:45 p.m. The traditional seder dinner, which costs $36, includes soup, gefilte fish, a variety of side dishes, a choice of cornish hen or brisket and dessert. The Oceanside Kiwanis Club and DOCA will be sponsoring an egg hunt on April 4 at the Schoolhouse Green on Foxhurst Rd. The hunt starts at 11 a.m. for children 3 and 4 years old, at 11:30 for children 5 and 6 years old, and at noon for children 7, 8 and 9 years old.
