Community Parent Center event. "The Law Squad," a seminar to heighten awareness of the laws both civil and criminal involving teens and their parents, will be held on Wednesday, May 10, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Brookside School, 1260 Meadowbrook Road. A panel of legal experts will present facts and answer questions about drinking, driving, drugs, the prom, house parties,Internet use and teen sexuality. Spaghetti dinner auction. The Merrick United Methodist Church will hold a spaghetti dinner and food auction at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, March 31, in the church's Colby Hall. Robbie's Run. Forever 9-The Robbie Levine Foundation, a non-profit organization formed to increase defibrillator use on youth athletic fields and raise awareness of heart disease in children, will hold "Robbie's Run" on Sunday, April 30. The 5K run will pay tribute to the late Robbie Levine, a 9-year-old Merrick boy who died last September. For further information, go to www.robbielevinefoundation.org.


Scoutwalk.The annual walk-a-thon, which includes pig-racing, a remote-control car rally, face painting, field games, and the Ultimate Challenge Obstacle Course, will take place on Saturday, April 29, at Eisenhower Park in East Meadow beginning at 11 a.m. This year's Scoutwalk is being dedicated to Merrick resident Robbie Levine, who was a Cub Scout before his untimely death last September. Session on forgiveness. Father Corrado will present sessions on the parish mission, "Forgiveness Leads to Wholeness Which Leads to Joy," at Curé of Ars Catholic Church on April 3 through 5, following the 9 a.m. liturgy and at 7:30 p.m. in a prayer service.


Cultural Arts Center open house. Nassau high school students and their parents are invited to Nassau BOCES Cultural Arts Center's Open House held on Saturday, April 8 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 239 Cold Spring Road in Syosset. The center offers ninth- through 12th-graders the opportunity to pursue majors in either a half-day or full-day program. Vendors needed by Chamber. The Merrick Chamber of Commerce is looking for vendors for the Annual Kidfest, which will be held on April 29 and April 30 at the Merrick railroad station parking lot. Theater at The Stage. "Pump Boys and Dinettes," a rock n' roll, country and blues musical revue, will be performed March 18 to April 15, with a Thursday performance on March 30. Mammography testing. Mammography testing will be held on Wednesday, June 28, at the North Merrick Library from 8:30 a.m. to 2:10 p.m., by appointment only. If you have health insurance, you must bring a prescription for the mammography from your doctor. If uninsured, there will be no charge. A photo ID is required at the time of the appointment. Laotian cooking demo. Author and cook Penn Hongthong will demonstrate how to cook a simple Laotian meal and then offer samples that have been prepared on April 8 from 7 to 8:30 p.m.


Yoga class continues. Register now for the classes being held on Saturdays, April 1 and 8, from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m., or 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. and Friday, March 31, and April 7, 21 and 28. The fee is $15.


Teen nail art. Young adults can learn how to manicure, decorate and take care of their nails on Monday, April 10, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Participants will also receive a kit. Fee $5. Registration ongoing.


Music for Babes. On April 24 at 1 p.m., babies from birth to 24 months, infants and young toddlers can enjoy music, rhymes and fingerplays with Dara Linthwaite. Registration begins April 17.

Budget vote. The library budget vote will take place on Tuesday, April 4, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.


Charlotte's Web. Plaza Theatrical Productions will present the play on Saturday, April 29, at 11 a.m. Tickets will be available beginning April 4.


Defensive Driving. Open to all ages, the program will be offered on Tuesday, April 18 and Thursday, April 20 from 6:30 until 9:30 p.m. Both classes must be completed to obtain a certificate. Registration is on Monday, April 3. Fee: $35 check to 3D Insurance Services.


Bus trip to Chinatown. The next trip will take place on Tuesday, April 18, from 9:45 a.m. to 6 p.m. The trip includes Dim Sum, a guided walking tour of Chinatown, fortune readings at the Buddhist temple and visiting Chinese gift shops. Registration is ongoing. The fee is $70 due at registration.


Science around the house. On Friday March 31 from 4 to 5 p.m.,scientist Steve Tomecek will present a hands-on-workshop for grades kindergarten through six, offering a close look at over a dozen different science experiments that children can do using inexpensive materials found around the house. Registration begins Friday, March 24, at 3:30 p.m.
