On June 23, the exuberant Malverne High School class of 2017 gathered on the football field for one last time as high school students before moving on to their next life adventure. It was a beautiful day, despite threats of rain that forced the graduation ceremony to be moved up an hour.
Graduates in blue and white gowns filled the field, and their loved ones and friends filled the bleachers. Others who couldn’t find seats gathered under and around the pavilion and surrounding areas.
Alexis Murry, the class valedictorian, who graduated with 24 college credits, told her classmates, “The unknown cannot stop us from moving on to enjoy all the success that the future holds. Tonight marks the beginning of a journey to accomplish anything we want.”
