Cooling centers in RVC open today, June 9

Cooling centers offering air conditioning and water will be

operating at the Recreation Center and the Sandel Senior Center from 10 a.m.to 6 p.m. today, June 9, during the expected heat wave.

The centers are jointly sponsored by the Village and the Nassau

County Office of Emergency Management who is supplying Community EmergencyResponse Team (CERT) volunteers at the locations. American Red Cross volunteers will also participate.

The Rockville Centre Recreation Center is located at 111 North

Oceanside Road and the Sandel Senior Center is at the corner of South Park and Lincoln avenues.
