The fair returns to the south parking lots of the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum from Thursday, June 17, until Sunday, June 27. Over 40 rides, games of skill and luck, tasty fair food, a petting zoo, live family entertainment and the Generations Jets Fest are just some of the attractions that will thrill and amuse.The fair hours start at 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 1 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Admission is $6 for adults, free for children 6 and under. Additional fees for rides, games and food. Discount coupons available. Pay-one-price ride tickets available. The Education & Assistance Corporation, a not-for-profit human services agency, is the charity receiving a portion of the proceeds from the fair. Included with the admission price this year are:- The Royal Sardini Circus, direct from London, England, will include juggling and tumbling. - Granpa Cratchet's Puppet Theater causes people to stop, laugh and forget their troubles as the listen to grandpa's jokes and stories.- New York Jets Zone features Jets Fest, an interactive NFL theme park with inflatable attractions.- The Hambone Racing Pigs are Asian potbelly pigs that race around the track to earn their favorite dessert, Oreo cookies. - Keith King's Bike Stunt Show is a BMX bicycle stunt team that features heart-stopping action with high aerial stunts and mind boggling technical maneuvers performed on the ground. - The barnyard animals are a delight for all ages. There will be a petting zoo, offering the opportunity to pet, feed and learn about cows, calves, horses, pigs, goats, chickens, ducks, hens, roosters, oxen, mule, sheep, zebu, ponies and a Brahma bull. Exciting rides this year include the Gentle Giant, a 110-foot high Ferris wheel; Powersurge; Slingshot; and the Grand Carousel that stands 50-feet high with 60 jumping horses. Other attractions include Kiddie Land, a children's amusement park with Bear Affair, Berry Go Round, Crazy Bus, Safari Train, Cliffhanger, Orient Express, Dizzy Dragons and Pirate Ship.
