Court of Honor presents two new Eagle Scouts

An Eagle Scout Court of Honor was held at Bethany Congregational Church on Nov. 14 for two outstanding boys: Kenneth A. Anderson and Luke A. Tesoriero.

Many officials and organizations attended and presented the new Eagle Scouts with citations, awards and commendations.

Kenneth Anderson

Kenny, 17, is a senior at East Rockaway High School. He began his scouting career as a Tiger Cub at age 7 with Pack 363, eventually crossing over to Boy Scout Troop 121 in 2003. He has held many leadership positions in scouting, and has earned 31 merit badges. He has been a part of the East Rockaway High School football team since 7th grade, and has been game captain, Lineman of the Week and Game MVP, among other accolades. He is also on the Track & Field team. He is also a member of the National Honor Society and the “It’s Academic” Quiz Bowl Team.

For Kenny’s Eagle Scout Leadership project, he got the dilapidated posts that run along East Boulevard in Bay Park replaced and repaired, with the help of the Town of Hempstead Highway Department, He scraped and painted the security chain and over 150 posts, with the help of friends, fellow scouts, family members, and scout parents.

Luke Tesoriero

Luke, 17, is a senior at East Rockaway High School. He has been involved in scouting since 2001 when he joined Cub Scout Pack 363 as a Bear Scout. He crossed over to Boy Scout Troop 121 in 2003, and has held a number of leadership positions within the Troop. He is a member of the East Rockaway Varsity football team, holding two letters. He also plays varsity baseball in the spring. He is a member of the high school academic team that participates in the Long Island Challenge.

Luke’s project was the beautify the athletic fields at his high school. Although recently redone, he felt that they still needed some greenery. He placed mulch and dirt as well as plant flowers and bushes along the side of the tech buildings. He chose this program because he wanted to give back to his school.
