According to Det. John Lapine, Adeola Ayeni, 34, Baltimore, Maryland was driving a 1997 Jeep westbound on North Jerusalem Road when she hit a 1993 Buick driven by an 82-year-old man, who was heading southbound on Merrick Avenue. The man was taken to Nassau University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 9:59 a.m., by hospital staff. No other injuries were reported.
Police added that Ayeni was arrested and charged with second-degree Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle. She was arraigned on Wednesday, at First District Court in Hempstead.
Police said that both cars were impounded for a safety check. The accident is still under investigation.
Sub head: Police catch suspect
Police have arrested a Levittown man and charged him with for forcible touching of a 12-year-old girl on April 4, in East Meadow.
Detective Robert Fierro said that Tod A. Stolting, 45, of 22259 North Newbridge Road, approached the 12-year-old girl, in a shopping aisle at Walmart, at 2465 Hempsteadd Turnpike, and touched her inappropriately from behind. Police said that Stolting then ran away from the store, while the girl ran to her mother, who notified store security and the police.
Stolting was arraigned on May 15, at the First District Court, in Hempstead and charged with forcible touching. Bail was set at $200,000 bond or $50,000 cash and an order of protection was issued.
