Arrests

A resident of Landing Ave., Bellmore, was arrested and charged with criminal contempt on Aug. 14 after an investigation at Sunrise Highway and Ocean Ave.

A resident of Merrick Road, was arrested and charged with assault after an investigation at his residence.

Criminal trespass

A contractor at a Forestdale Road residence reported that on Aug. 14 someone had entered the building without authorization. There was no damage reported, although empty beer cans were discovered at the scene.

Assault

A resident of Rockville Centre reported on Aug. 15 that a male acquaintance assaulted her while they were at his home two days earlier.

Criminal contempt

On Aug. 12, a resident of Rockville Centre reported that the mother of his child violated two orders of protection during a telephone conversation with their daughter.

Larcenies

On Aug. 8, a resident of Hicksville reported that his 1996 Chevrolet was stolen from Municipal Parking Field 1 between Aug. 5 and Aug. 6.

On Aug. 9, a resident of Rockville Centre reported that his Trek 7100 mountain bicycle, valued at $400, was stolen from the bike rack at the LIRR station, despite being secured with a cable lock.

A Rockville Centre resident reported on Aug. 13 that someone stole his iPod and headphones, valued at a total of $130, from his 2010 Jeep sometime the previous day.

On Aug. 15, a resident of Westbury reported that someone took her purse from her 1999 Ford that had been parked in front of 50 Lenox Road. Later on that day, the superintendent of 31 Lenox Road reported finding the purse in the rear of his building, though the victim reported that $4,000 was missing from the recovered property.

On the same day, a resident of Baldwin reported that someone stole his digital camera valued at $149 while he was working at Mercy Medical Center.

On Aug. 16, a resident of South Hempstead reported that his orbital sanders and sander discs, valued at $495, were stolen from Hewitt School at 446 Hempstead Ave..

Unusual incident

On Aug. 1, a resident of Rockville Centre reported that someone applied for lines of credit using his personal information and charged $1,400 worth of merchandise from Sam’s Club without authorization.

Investigations

On Aug. 8, an employee of the Diocese of Rockville Centre at 50 N. Park Ave. reported suspicious activity on a checking account regarding four checks totaling $2,465.63.

On the same day, a resident of Rockville Centre reported a dispute regarding a second-hand iPod purchase and youths harassing the seller by ringing the doorbell to his house and running away.

Fire

On Aug. 14 at 5:21 a.m., police responded to a reported fire at We Buy Gold at 218A Sunrise Highway. Rockville Centre Fire Department extinguished a fire to the awning of the building, which had possibly been caused by neon lights.

Property damage

On Aug. 8, falling tree limbs reportedly damaged two parked vehicles at Mercy Medical Center.

On Aug. 10, a resident of Rockville Centre reported that the rear bumper of his 2011 Honda was damaged while parked in Municipal Parking Field 20.

On the same day, a resident of Rockville Centre reported that someone damaged two legs of a bench located on the front lawn of his residence.

On Aug. 11, a resident of Rockville Centre reported that someone shot BBs and damaged the passenger side window and body of his 2007 Toyota.

On Aug. 12, a resident of Rockville Centre reported that someone damaged the front windshield of his 1995 Chevrolet while it was parked in his driveway.

On Aug. 13, a resident of Rockville Centre reported that someone damaged the passenger side rear window of her 2010 Chevrolet.
