Two Lynbrook men were part of a group of five who were involved in a fight resulting in a Baldwin man facing misdemeanor charges of assaulting a New York City police 

According to the New York Police Department spokeswoman, five men were arrested in a fight at the Brass Monkey on Little W. 12th St., in the Meatpacking District of Manhattan at 1:42 a.m. on Jan. 3.

The spokeswoman said an off-duty police officer noticed the men fighting among themselves and attempted to intervene when, she said, he was injured.

The officer was taken to Lenox Hill Hospital with a fractured jaw.

Although all five men were initially arrested on gang assault charges, only two were charged by the Manhattan district attorney’s office: Thomas Gagliardi, 23, of Baldwin, and Matthew Tacktill, 23, of Northport. Bond was set at $2,500 for both men. Of the other men, one was from Franklin Square and two were from Lynbrook.


 

CRIME WATCH ARRESTS

On Jan. 5 at 4:50 a.m., a 30-year-old man, of Brooklyn, was arrested and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation, inadequate plate lamp and glass tint violations on Peninsula Boulevard, Lynbrook.

A 75-year-old man, of Roosevelt, was arrested on Jan. 5 at 11:30 a.m. and charged with petit larceny for a theft of $180 that occurred at Picker Pharmacy,18 Atlantic Ave. at 10:40 a.m. earlier the same day.

On Jan. 6 at 9:30 a.m., a 20-year-old man, of Woodmere, was arrested and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation, speeding, operating out of class and operating with no insurance on Peninsula Boulevard.

On Jan. 6 at 2:46 p.m., a 51-year-old man, of Brooklyn, was located, arrested and charged with an open Lynbrook Village Warrant from July 30th, 2014 for unlicensed operation.

A 22-year-old man, of Lynbrook, was located, arrested and charged with resisting arrest and an open Lynbrook Village warrant on Jan. 6 for a December 8th, 2015 voilation for unlicensed operation, aggravated unlicensed operation, and tail lamp violations.

On Jan. 6, a 25-year-old, of West Hempstead, an employee of Atlantic Gas Station, 2 Hendrickson Ave., was arrested and charged with unlawfully dealing with a child, for selling alcoholic beverages to a minor.
