Arrests
 On July 24 at 10:35 a.m., a 20-year-old  Valley Stream man was arrested and charged with criminal impersonation, unlawful possession of marijuana and an open warrant for assault on Prospect Avenue.
At 4:20 p.m. on July 24, A 49-year-old Lynbrook man was arrested and charged with obstruction of breathing, criminal mischief, endangering the welfare of a minor and harassment on Christabel Street.
A 23-year-old of Mount Vernon, was arrested and charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated, driving while intoxicated and unsafe lane change on Hempstead Avenue on July 25 at 4:26 a.m.
On July 25 at 8:40 a.m., A 39-year-old Hempstead man was arrested and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation and obstructing an intersection on Broadway.
A 36-year-old Freeport man was arrested and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation (3 counts) and equipment violation on Merrick Road in Lynbrook on July 26 at 11 a.m.
On July 29 at 6:35 a.m., A 32-year-old of Jamaica was arrested and charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated, driving while intoxicated, failed to stop at stop sign and unlicensed operation on Waterview Place.

Suspicious check in mail
At 6:23 p.m. on July 23, a complainant reported that they received a check, written to the complainant, in a priority mail envelope from “John Hopkins University” drawn on an “M & T Bank” check. The complainant was not expecting this check and did bring the check to their Chase Bank branch. The complainant was informed by the bank that the account number on the check was a real account number but the check was fraudulent. The complainant was advised by the bank that it could possibly be an attempt to gain access to the complainant’s bank information once the complainant attempted to cash the check.
