Teen robbed on Long Beach Road
A 16-year-old girl reported to police that she was robbed of her cell phone while walking on Long Beach Road on Monday at 4:15 p.m.
According to Nassau County detectives, the girl was approached from behind by three males who demanded her phone. After a brief struggle, the men ran north on Long Beach Road with the phone. No injuries were reported.
The suspects are described as three black males, 5’ 5” tall, wearing blue jeans with black and red T-shirts.

Arrests
- Franklin Diaz, 19, of S. Park Avenue, was arrested at 12:30 a.m. on Oct. 7 and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation. Police said that Diaz was arrested after he was stopped on Sunrise Highway for a speeding violation and was subsequently determined to be driving with a suspended license.
- Chad Roehrig, 22, was arrested on Oct. 7 at 11:50 p.m. and charged with criminal possession of a weapon and possession of marijuana. According to police, Roehrig was arrested after they stopped him for a speeding violation on Seaman Avenue and saw a gravity knife inside his car. After his arrest, police say that he was found to be in possession of several small plastic bags containing a substance police identified as marijuana.
- Ross Gollub, 21, of Milburn Street, was arrested on Oct. 8 at 6:40 p.m. and charged with criminal possession of a weapon and possession of marijuana. According to police, Gollub was arrested after police stopped the car in which he was a passenger, pursuant to an investigation, and found him to be in possession of a switchblade knife. After he was arrested, police also found Gollub to be in possession of a plastic bag containing a substance they identified as marijuana.
- Deni Rodriguez, 26, of S. Centre Avenue, was arrested at 8 p.m. on Oct. 8 and charged with being the subject of an outstanding warrant relating to criminal possession of marijuana. Police said Rodriguez was arrested near S. Park Avenue after he was seen on the street by an officer aware of the outstanding warrant for his arrest.
- Christopher Gaines, 19, of Laurelton and a 14-year-old girl from Hauppauge were arrested on Oct. 10 at 6:29 a.m. and charged with criminal possession of stole property. Police say the pair was arrested after police saw them driving a motor vehicle that had been reported stolen. Kennon Knight, 24, also of Laurelton, who was a passenger in the car, was also arrested on charges of being the subject of an active Nassau County Family Court warrant.
- Thomas S. Knight, 59, of Merrick, was arrested on Oct. 11 at 4:42 p.m. at St. Agnes Cathedral and charged with petit larceny. Knight was arrested after he allegedly removed money from the donation box at the church. He was also charged with what police said was an open Nassau County bench warrant.
- Alex Infante, 21, of Rockville Centre was arrested and charged with criminal possession of narcotic drug with intent to sell at Waterford Road in Island Park.
Burglaries
- On Oct. 8 at 6:40 a.m., an Arleigh Road resident told police that between Oct. 7 at 11:40 p.m. and the following morning at 6, someone entered his house through an unlocked side window and stole two laptop computers, a computer notebook, several credit cards and $600 in cash from inside the residence.
- At 10:30 a.m. on Oct. 10, a resident of S. Forest Avenue reported to police that between Oct. 9 at 11 a.m. and Oct. 10 at 8:30 a.m. someone entered her home and ransacked several rooms. The rear kitchen window was found to be removed from its frame and the rear door was reportedly wide open.
Larcenies
- On Oct. 7 at 1:45 p.m. a resident of Buckminster road told police that he discovered that someone had stolen two mountain bicycles from his detached garage.
- At 11: 40 a..m. on Oct. 8 a Linhurst Place resident reported to police that on Oct. 7 between 9:30 p.m. and 11 p.m. someone entered her unlocked car, which was parked in front of her home, and stole her pocketbook containing personal identification and a credit card.
- On Oct 10 at 3:45 p.m. a man reported that he left his credit card near the cash register of a Merrick Road pharmacy on Oct. 8 and subsequently found that someone had made purchases of $55.41 and $329.95 with the credit card at the same pharmacy without permission.
Village code violation
- Stanley Hirsh, 86, of Island Parkway West, Island Park, received an appearance ticket on Oct. 15 at 9:10 a.m. charging him with disturbing garbage in a recycling bin in front of 138 Bulson Road.
