Assemblyman Brian Curran announced that he and Sen. Curran said the Town of Hempstead will receive a total Consolidated Local Street and Highway Improvement Program (CHIPS) funding allocation of $2,718,094.18 and a total $403,613.36 in winter recovery funds for roadways throughout the Town of Hempstead, including Baldwin, Oceanside, South Hempstead, Franklin Square and West Hempstead. Curran also noted that CHIPS funding is used for road repair, construction and maintenance.

“We’ve had a terrible winter this past season, and it takes a toll on the condition of our roads and bridges,” said Curran. “Top-notch infrastructure is essential for the safety of persons and families who travel on our roads and bridges every day. “I’m happy to have voted for this year’s CHIPS and winter recovery funds in the 2015-16 State Budget, and I commend Nassau County Executive Ed Mangano and Town of Hempstead Senior Councilman Anthony J. Santino for their attention to this important issue and our local infrastructure.”

Curran noted the CHIPS funding for the Town of Hempstead is $2,718,094.18; and the winter recovery funding is $403,613.36.
