Dan Farrell: A life in photographs

Posted

The Oceanside Library paid homage to Oceanside photographer Danny Farrell with an exhibit of his photographs. One year ago Farrell, a photographer who spent 50 years working for the New York Daily News, died, but his legacy lives on.

Farrell gained fame after he snapped the now famous shot of John F. Kennedy Jr. saluting his father’s coffin on November 25, 1963.

Included in the show were photographs of members of the Kennedy family, The Beatles, movie stars, politicians and sports figures including Mohammed Ali. Farrell won over 100 awards for his pictures.
