District 24 board to talk consolidation

Posted

The District 24 Board of Education will discuss in January its possible participation in a Valley Stream school consolidation study. Board of Education Vice President Carole Meaney announced last week that board members will talk about the issue at the Jan. 26 work session at 7:30 p.m.

Members of the public will be invited to attend the meeting, however, public comment on consolidation will not be allowed until the regular business meeting at 8:30 p.m. The board is considering taking part in a study that would explore the merger of the four Valley Stream school districts.
