Mom and baby are doing fine. Anna Diakou was born at 8:31 p.m., weighing seven pounds, five ounces. Her proud parents, Debbie and Kyriacos of Smithtown, were visiting relatives at an Oliver Way home in Merrick when Debbie went into labor. The fire department was summoned. Anna was born two minutes after fire volunteers arrived at the house. Anna and Debbie were taken to South Nassau Communities Hospital in Oceanside.
