Pvt. Brian McGee, a graduate from East Meadow High School class of 2005, joined the Army and took Basic Training and Military specialty training for Military Police at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. He graduated and was assigned to the 442nd Military Police Company in Jamaica. McGee was deployed April 19 from the Jamaica Armory. He is currently serving with the 442nd Military Police Company stationed in Iraq.
Before leaving for his tour of duty in Iraq, McGee dressed in his army fatigue uniform and visited his elementary school, the School for Language and Communications Development in Glen Cove. McGee brought an American flag signed by his company, which he dedicated to his school. It will be displayed in the front hallway of the school.
McGee was one of the school’s original 100 students when the school was first established about 25 years ago.
