East Meadow’s college kids earning good grades

  • Elizabeth Dial, daughter of Mrs. Frances Dial of East Meadow, received a bachelor’s degree from Wells College. Elizabeth majored in Performing Arts with a concentration in Theatre, graduating cum laude. She received Wells’ Helen Gertrude Dean ‘25 Prize for Dramatic Expression.
  • Wayne Mitchel, a member of the class of 2011, was named to the dean’s list of Muhlenberg College in Allentown, PA, completing the semester with a GPA of 3.5 or higher. He is a Business Administration major and Economics minor from East Meadow, child of Mr. and Mrs. Lon Mitchel and a graduate of East Meadow High School.
  • Michelle D’Souza was added to Scranton University’s dean’s list for the fall 2010 Semester after publication of the list in January of 2011. D’Souza is a sophomore in the University’s College of Arts and Sciences. She needed to have a GPA of 3.5 or better. 
  • Rachel Sidney has been named to McDaniel College’s spring 2011 dean’s list with High Honors. Highest honors are earned for a semester grade point average of 3.9 or higher, high honors for a grade point average of 3.7 to 3.89, and honors for a 3.5 to 3.69 average.
  • Madison Polinice was named to the dean’s list at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, Conn. for the spring semester. To receive this honor, she had to achieve a 3.6 grade point average, based on a 4.0 scale.
  • Julianna Zitz has been named to the dean’s list for the spring 2011 semester at Salve Regina University in Newport, Rhode Island. Zitz is a graduate of the Class of 2011. To qualify for the dean’s list, full-time undergraduate students must earn a minimum grade point average of 3.6 with no grade below a “B” in that semester.
