Pagliaro, a resident of East Rockaway, has long been a committed member of the village and a key player in many local programs. The following biography supplied by the Knights of Columbus sums up some of her life in the public sphere.
Pagliaro's devotion to helping others was instilled at an early age. Growing up in the North Shore Community of Manhasset, her mother would take her to visit Our Lady of the Angels, a home for boys from broken homes in Syosset. Missy's mother would take three boys home for the weekend and take them to carnivals, movies and fairs. Her mother's giving left an impression that has guided Missy along the path of volunteerism and devotion to causes that help others in her community. Today, along with the third generation, her children Joseph Jr., Donna and Andrew they carry on the Pagliaro tradition.
Pagliaro's husband, Joseph, a well known resident of East Rockaway, who gave to his country and community, passed away in January 1996. On July 12, 1997, she founded the
