Residents from communities across the country will come together over the next few days to celebrate our nation’s independence and the myriad of things that make it great. The East Rockaway community will commemorate the occasion with its annual Stars & Stripes Festival on July 5-7, which is organized by the village. The festival will feature carnival rides and games, live music performances and, of course, fireworks.
Stars & Stripes will take place at the waterfront on Main Street, which will provide a scenic backdrop for the annual event. On July 6, two musical acts will perform: “Drive” and “Eliot Lewis Trio.” Drive is set to play a 1980’s music tribute and will open for the Eliot Lewis Trio beginning at 3 p.m. During the next day, the band “Mystic” will take the stage. There will be water rides, a petting zoo and carnival games for everyone.
Admission on all three days is free and people of all ages are welcome. The schedule of events is:
