East Rockaway’s Allstate Insurance agent Robert James has received the Agency Hands in the Community Award for his commitment to volunteering in the community. With this award came a $1,000 grant from The Allstate Foundation for the Cedarmore Corporation in Freeport, where James volunteers.
“Robert is an active and respected member of the business community, protecting people with insurance and financial services products,” said Linda Collora, New York regional sales leader at Allstate Insurance Company. “He also makes a point of getting involved personally by dedicating his time and efforts to making a difference in people’s lives.
The Cedarmore Corporation YETP (Youth Employment and Training Program) is a three-week program servicing 50 youth ages 7 to 18 on financial literacy. The goal is to help students learn how to become entrepreneurs. Although this program is based out of Freeport, its influence stretches well beyond New York. Recently, YETP student won top honors in the University of Delaware’s Hospitality Entrepreneurship Summit.
