The unofficial results from the Board of Elections for the 2005 election in Nassau County are as follows:
County Executive Thomas R. Suozzi (D-Glen Cove) was reelected with 59 percent of the vote to Republican challenger Greg Peterson, former supervisor of the Town of Hempstead.
Democrat Kathleen Rice garnered 51 percent of the vote for district attorney, defeating incumbent Republican Denis Dillon, who has held the position for 31 years.
County Comptroller Howard Weitzman was reelected with 53 percent of the vote to Republican Don Clavin's 47 percent.
Republican Maureen O'Connell beat Democrat Tricia Ferrell for County Clerk with 53 percent of the vote to Ferrell's 47 percent.
In the County Legislature, all incumbents were returned, preserving the Democratic Party's 10-9 majority in that body.

Democrat Roger Corbin won 79 percent of the vote.

Democrat Joe Scannell won with 68 percent of the vote.

Republican Vincent Muscarella won 75 percent of the vote.

Republican Norma Gonsalves won with 62 percent of the vote.

Democrat David Denenberg won with 67 percent of the vote.
Town of Hempstead
All incumbents were reelected.
Supervisor Kate Murray (R-Levittown) defeated her Democrat challenger, Harvey Levinson, with 59 percent of the vote to his 41 percent.
Town Clerk Mark Bonilla (R) won with 56 percent of the vote.
In District 1, Democrat Councilwoman Dorothy Goosby won with 83 percent of the vote.
In District 4, Republican Councilman Anthony Santino won with 64 percent of the vote.
In District 6, Republican Councilman Gary Hudes won with 66 percent of the vote.
