Elizabeth Reccow, Long Beach native, dies

Elizabeth Regina Kelly Reccow, a native to Long Beach, died on Jan. 25.

The daughter of the late James and Josephine Kelly of East Atlantic Beach, Reccow was born and raised in Long Beach and attended St. Agnes Academic High School in Rockville Centre, Mount St. Mary College in Hooksett, New Hampshire, Fordham University and University of California in Los Angeles. She taught at Newport Beach Elementary School in Newport Beach, California, for 25 years.

A Catholic, Reccow was devoted to her God, enjoyed traveling and the beauty of nature.

Reccow’s funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton in Irvine, California, by her brother Rt. Rev. Monsignor James P. Kelly.

Reccow is survived by her husband Louis, children Brian and Matthew, brother of Rt. Rev. Monsignor James P. Kelly, sister Josephine Moriarty (Thomas) and aunt of Joanne Moriarty Arenturo (Chris), her nephew James Moriarty (Mary Kate) and nephew John Moriarty (Lori).
