Paula Johnson, Veronica Allocca and Tiria Onwuchekwa are challenging for the seat vacated by Dr. Anthony Batista, who moved out of the district.
The seat previously occupied by Cheryl Lee is a three-person race between former Elmont school board member Joy Madera, Elmont East End Civic Club President Pat Nicolosi and the Rev. Al Burt.
The Franklin Square Public Library's 2007-08 budget, which is just below $2.19 million, passed last month. The Rev. Fred McElderry, an incumbent, ran unopposed.
