Hundreds of residents of Rockville Centre and the surrounding towns gathered at Parking Lot 22 for the second annual Elf Yourself event.
Everyone who came dressed as an elf — which meant a red and green pointy hat and red and green clothes. Though hundreds showed up, there were not enough people to break the Guinness World Record of 762.
In addition to being an attempt to break a world record, the event was also a fundraiser for the St. Patrick’s Parade. All of the money raised will be donated to the parade’s charities for 2014: New Ground, Inc., The Angelman Syndrome Foundation and The Nassau County AOH Feis committee.
