Parade marchers assembled in the parking lot of East Meadow High School at 9:15 a.m., and at 10:00 a.m. marched south on Carman Avenue to Hempstead Turnpike, and turned left (east) to Prospect Avenue. Once on Prospect Avenue, the parade turned right and continued along Prospect Avenue to its destination, the East Meadow Veterans Memorial Park.
Once at the park, a special service was held honoring the memories of the lives lost in the defense of the United States. After the prayer, which was lead by Rev. Andrew W. Jagow of Calvary Lutheran Church, wreaths from participating organizations (American Legion Post 1082, Community Association of Stewart Avenue, Council of East Meadow Community Organizations, East Meadow Baseball/Softball Association, East Meadow Chamber of Commerce, East Meadow Fire Department, East Meadow Fire District, East Meadow Association of Girl Scouts, East Meadow Jewish Community Relations Council, East Meadow Kiwanis Foundation, East Meadow Lions Club, East Meadow Republican Club, Jewish War Veterans post 709 of East Meadow and Levittown, Jewish War Veterans Ladies Auxiliary Post 709, the Knights of Pythias Alliance East Meadow Lodge 774, Knights of Columbus Pop Pius XII Council 4422, Senator Edward J. Speno Lodge 2568, Order of Sons of Italy, the Bristal at East Meadow, United Veterans Council of East Meadow, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2736) were place on the memorial.
