Sewing 101

The Rockville Centre/Lakeview Community Action Program at 140 Centre Ave. is offering a series of sewing classes taught by Frederica Groover on Friday nights between 6 and 7 p.m. Come out and learn a forgotten skill. For further information, call (516) 764-4500.

Watercolor demonstration

On March 24 at 7 p.m. the Village Art Club welcomes Ed McEvoy who will be doing a watercolor demonstration. Mc-

Evoy is an award-winning Long Island artist, painting instructor, and former Executive Director of the Art League of Long Island. The workshop demonstration will be in the downstairs meeting room of the Rockville Centre Library, 221 N. Village Ave. The meeting is free and open to the public. "West Side Story" auditions

Kids Performing Who Kare will hold auditions for "West Side Story" — its 10th annual show — on March 30 at 5 p.m. in the Recreation Center at, 111 N. Oceanside Road. Ages 8 and up.
