The Hewlett boys’ team was led by seniors David Galinsky and Timothy Yuan, who both earned All-County honors. Galinsky was named to the All-County First Team after going 20-4 at foil, while Yuan was named All-County Honorable Mention following a 13-9 season with the epee sword.

Galinsky trains at the Five Towns Fencers Club with Hewlett High School alum Jonathan Tiomkin, who competed for the U.S at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens. "He eats, drinks and breathes the sport," said Hewlett head coach Nicole Bove of Galinsky, who was a captain this season along with Yuan and Nathaniel Cho. "He was a great leader throughout the season."

Lehrman compiled a record of 16-9 at foil, while Cho finished with a 16-11 record at sabre. Lehrman, Bianca Lee and Tiffany Chiu served as captains.

"I'm very proud of all their accomplishments and accolades," said Bove, who coached both teams with Jared Pittelli. "They were really true leaders and great role models for the rest of the team."
