The sumptuous grandeur of Frances Second Empire is celebrated in Nassau County Museum of Arts major exhibition of paintings, sculpture, decorative objects, memorabilia and historical artifacts that reflect the Imperial Court of Napoleon III and Empress Eugenie from 1852 to 1870. This exhibit, curated by Franklin Hill Perrell, draws from the notable collection of Christopher Forbes who regards Napoleon III as one of the great underrated world leaders. It conveys the story of France during Napoleons era its personages, accomplishments, international relationships and throughout the opulence that characterized the royal court of Napoleon III and his Consort Empress. Tranquil Power: The Art of Perle Fine

Reach for the Stars Teen Talent Search
Contestants are wanted for Long Islands version of American Idol (solo vocal talent only) at Harry Chapin Lakeside Theatre in Eisenhower Park. Contestants (120 in all) will be chosen on a first-come, first-served basis by application. Applications must be postmarked by June 24. Auditions will be held on July 15, by appointment only.
