An exhibit that spans the breadth of Heckscher Museum’s Permanent Collection of paintings. Robert Rauschenberg and His Contemporaries: Recent Prints from Universal Limited Art Editions
An homage to the artist, who died in May 2008. The exhibit features examples from Rauschenberg’s last print series, titled The Lotus Series, with imagery drawn from contemporary China. The exhibit includes works by Jasper Johns, recent lithographs by Helen Frankenthaler, a photogravure by Chuck Close and a lithograph by James Rosenquist. Long Island Black Artists Association
A selection of works by themore than 150 members of the Long Island Black Artists Association can be viewed through Mar. 27. A Retrospective: 1934-1998
An exhibit of the works of 20th century American painter Ralph L. Wickiser. His works are inspired by the woods and streams near his home in Woodstock, NY, and reveal his fascination with the color, light, texture, and form of nature. Through March 31. Everything Is Everywhere, In Its Own Way
