Farmers Market open through mid-November in Rockville Centre

Local residents have been able to enjoy the Farmers Market, open along Sunrise Highway on Sunday mornings since late spring. They meet and greet friends and neighbors and get to skip the crowds and lines of the big chain stores. Many enjoy the old-time feeling of going to an open air market and getting the chance to leisurely sample items and chat with the vendors about their goods and services. A number of shoppers on a beautiful recent Sunday morning traveled from neighboring towns, such as West Hempstead and Lynbrook, to look for fresh food items that come directly from the farm.

“I think it’s great for the customers to come out every week to taste and sample the goods first hand. In the end, the market itself feels like one big family!,” said Charmaine Fraser, who runs her stand, Guyank Brand, LLC.

The Rockville Centre Farmers Market will be open until the week before Thanksgiving.
