Fighting the Flu Influenza begins to take its toll in Oceanside

      Ashley Silverman couldn't wait to crawl into bed and pull the covers up to her chin. After fighting a horrendous sinus headache and cough for several days, body aches set in and she turned fire engine red. When her mom came home from work on Friday, Jan. 19, she found her daughter to be running a fever of 103 degrees. First thing Saturday morning, she was off to her pediatrician's office.
      I've got to rest, take cough syrup, Advil, and drink lots of fluids, Ashley said. The doctor said I've got a flu-like virus and needed to rest. Four days later, she was still under the weather, as Ashley opened her front door clad in an oversized Born to Shop
