On Sunday evening, at approximately 4:45 p.m., the Lynbrook Fire Department, under the command of First Assistant Chief Michael Anderson, responded to a reported building fire at the closed Mangrove Knitting Mills building at the corner of Broadway and Langdon Place (a.k.a “The Feather Factory).
After a passerby reported smoke from an area behind the building, Lynbrook firefighters arrived to extinguish a rubbish fire that was climbing up the side of the brick and boarded up building.
The cause of the fire was “suspicious,” and Anderson requested an investigation by the Nassau County Fire Marshal’s Office.
