The parade started at 5 p.m. on Newbridge Road and Belmond Avenue in North Bellmore, and headed south on Newbridge Road for about 1 1/2 miles until it dispersed at Newbridge Road and Broad Street. Participating in the event were members of Long Island's Sixth Battalion, including the Bellmore, East Meadow, Levittown, Merrick, North Bellmore, North Massapequa, North Merrick, Seaford, Massapequa and Wantagh fire departments. The North Merrick Fire Department won the parade event.
After the procession, there was a big block party on Broad Street, with food, rides and games for all ages.
