Firefighters from Island Park and several neighboring communities battled a three-alarm fire at Jordan Lobster Farms on Friday evening.
The fire was reported at the seafood market and restaurant, located at 1 Pettit Place, at about 6:48 p.m. According to fire officials, crews worked for approximately 70 minutes before bringing the blaze under control.
The Island Park Fire Department led the response, with firefighters from East Rockaway, Freeport, Lawrence-Cedarhurst, Long Beach, Lynbrook, Oceanside and Point Lookout assisting at the scene.
No injuries were reported.
The fire was contained to the upper level of the property, while the lower level was not affected.
Jordan Lobster Farms has been a fixture in Island Park for more than 30 years. The family-owned business, founded by Bill Jordan, operates a seafood market, clam bar, indoor restaurant and backyard bar on the waterfront. Known for its fresh seafood and live lobster offerings, the destination attracts customers from throughout Long Island and beyond.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
