On Monday, the Point Lookout-Lido Fire Department responded to a house fire a 44 Carousel Lane. The call came in just before 10 a.m., and the fire was brought under control in about 30 minutes. PLLFD received assistance from the Long Beach and Freeport fire departments. The fire is believed to have started on the outside of the house, but the cause is still under investigation, according to Assistant Fire Chief Brian Guerin. Firefighters were able to contain the fire to one portion of the house, on the second floor, and the house was unoccupied when firefighters arrived.
