The grand celebration is upon us with plenty of fireworks to enjoy. The pyrotechnics are always glorious and with the holiday falling midweek – on Wednesday this year – the festivities begin early, so we can partake of holiday merriment throughout the week. Get ready to share in the spirit of the nation’s birthday at many locations throughout the area.

Celebrate America at Eisenhower Park
Eisenhower Park is now the main venue for the countywide celebration. Many thousands are expected to visit the park on Saturday, June 30, to watch as the skies become a glittering spectacle of fireworks at the county’s ninth annual July Fourth extravaganza.
TD Bank will once again sponsor “Celebrate America,” a spectacular show at the Harry Chapin Lakeside Theatre. The fireworks, presented by the world-famous Grucci family, are part of an enjoyable evening in the park that kicks off at 5:30 p.m. with Dr. K’s Motown Revue and a tribute to John Cougar Mellencamp and Journey with the Idol Kings.
The theater area gates will open at 5 p.m., with the fireworks beginning at nightfall, around 9:30 p.m. Tickets are required for admission to the theater area; the free tickets are available at any TD Bank on Long Island, while supplies last. There is no formal seating; visitors should bring blankets or chairs. Space is limited and overflow will be directed to other viewing and parking areas. “Noone at Night” in Point Lookout
The legendary Peter Noone, of Herman’s Hermits fame, rocks the beach at the Town of Hempstead’s annual Salute to Veterans Independence Day festivities, on Saturday, June 30, at 8 p.m., at Town Park Point Lookout.
The program begins at 7:30 p.m. with a salute to heroic war veterans, followed by the concert and concluding with a rousing fireworks show, prepared by Bay Fireworks, at approximately 9:30 p.m.
