Fixing smiles, one patient at a time

Posted
³This is a very rewarding field,² he said. ³My patients are very appreciative of changes they see. It¹s amazing the difference you can make in someone¹s life just by giving them a healthy smile.²
Miller¹s introduction into the field of dentistry began with his grandmother, who was a dental assistant. ³That was my first introduction to dentistry,² he said. ³As a child I was a patient myself and became further interested in the field.²
Miller, originally from Howard Beach, Queens, and now a resident of Merrick, began his journey into the field of dentistry by graduating cum laud from St. John¹s University in 1998. He then graduated from SUNY Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine in 2002 and received a certificate in advanced Orthodontics from Stony Brook.
After graduating from dental school, Miller began his private practice experience by working in offices in Brooklyn, New Hyde Park and Plainview. In September 2005, Miller finally started his own practice in East Meadow, on 330 Newbridge Road.
³What Orthodontist do is specialize in tooth alignment and in the relationship between the upper and lower teeth of a jaw,² he said. ³The main thing we do is tooth alignment with braces and other issues that have to do with the bite and mouth.²
Miller treats both children and adults, and offers the latest styles in braces. ³The most popular kind are steal braces, which are bonded to your teeth,² he said. ³They come in different colors and are real popular with kids. For adults, I offer tooth colored braces.²
Miller uses the latest technology in orthodontic practice management software, which includes scheduling, digital photos, paperless charts and digital models [which eliminate the need for plaster models]. ³Patients can now see their teeth in virtual 3D on my computer screen,² he said.
Miller has experience in treating crowding, spacing, overbites, underbites, finger and tongue habits, and many other problems associated with tooth alignment and bites. He works with most insurance plans and bills insurance companies first. In addition, he offers free consultations.
³I strongly believe that all patients should be treated in an individual manner and proper amount of time should be spent making sure each and every patient achieves a healthy, picture perfect smile.²
