If you have ever dreamt of a room full of delicious food, table upon table of decadent desserts — even a presentation dedicated to creamy cheesecakes — then you probably asked someone to pinch you awake if you attended this year’s “A Taste of Lynbrook,” presented by the Chamber of Commerce at the St. Mary’s Knights of Columbus Hall on Hempstead Avenue in Lynbrook.
Attendees were greeted with, and could vote on their favorites at this food fest, featuring a smorgasbord of deliciously teasing tidbits from dozens of Lynbrook restaurants, bakeries and catering establishments.
Attendees voted for their favorite dishes and choose the winners (what a task that was!) “People’s Choice,” and gold and silver awards given out for the best appetizer, entrée and dessert, along with prizes for overall dish presentation and table display.
All proceeds from the evening will go to charity: the Lynbrook Relay for Life, the chamber’s scholarship fund and the addition of World Trade Center steel to the village Sept. 11 memorial garden.
