Volunteers Honored at SNCH


Area residents who are members of the adult and junior volunteer program at South Nassau Communities Hospital recently received their service awards for April and May of 2006. The award recipients, as well as the department and/or capacity in which each volunteer worked, are listed below.

Winthrop MD's Make Top Doctors List


Seven Winthrop-University Hospital physicians have been named to New York Magazine's 2006 "Best Doctors" list. The doctors were among 1,358 chosen from the five boroughs, Long Island, Westchester, northern New Jersey and Fairfield County in Connecticut.Those physicians recognized from Winthrop include: Anthony Arcati, MD (Family Medicine); Eva Chalas, MD, Chief, Gynecological Oncology; Burke A. Cunha, MD, Chief, Division of Infectious Disease; Dorie Hankin, MD (Pediatrics); Leonard Krilov, MD, Chief, Division of Pediatric Infectious Disease; Michael Niederman, MD, Chairman, Department of Medicine; and Warren H. Zelman, MD (Otolaryngology).
