Franklin Square, Elmont libraries offer curbside pickup

Posted

Elmont residents can now pickup library books from the comfort of their cars, as  the Elmont Memorial Library started offering curbside pickup services on Monday.

To request a book, patrons simply have to fill out a form on the library's website or at the front of the library. They could also call (516) 354 - 5280, or have a librarian make a book recommendation based on their interests.

Once returned, all books and other materials will be quarantined for at least 72 hours. As a result, patrons may see a book they have returned still listed on their accout, but no fines will be accrued during this time.

Additionally, the Franklin Square Public Library will begin scheduling curbside pickup appointments next Monday. Residents will then be able to pick up theri materials in the parking lot or by walking up to the library's entrance.

Items can be reserved online or by phone, and a librarian will call a patron to schedule a pickup time.
