Jaguar Land Rover recently opened a state-of-the-art showroom off Sunrise Highway in Freeport. In doing so, the company introduced the British automaker’s retail ARCH design, which houses the Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles under one roof.
On April 13, Jaguar Land Rover held an upscale event to welcome Global CEO Dr. Ralf Dieter Speth and several company employees, local residents and members of the press for the unveiling. Those in attendance marveled at the sleek look of the dealership. Then came the expressions of “ooo” and “ahhh” as they peeked inside the Jaguars and Land Rovers.
The addition of the luxury dealership is one piece in a much-larger revitalization picture for the Village of Freeport.
“It’s a real honor to be here to celebrate Freeport’s new facility. I know it’s going to be a big boost to our company and our sales here on Long Island,” said Clinton Blair, vice president of government affairs for Jaguar Land Rover North America.
On display in the new showroom were the pristine 2017 Land Rover Discovery, Range Rover Evoque, Range Rover Sport and the latest addition to the brand, Range Rover Velar, which will go on sale in the next six months. The new facility is 35,000 square feet and features a 15-car showroom; 22-bay service department, with enclosed three-lane service drive-in area and rooftop parking. The facility also includes a complimentary automatic car wash, hospitality center, and has Jaguar and Land Rover loaner vehicles readily available on site.
The new design of the dealership is a part of the new global retail launch. Designed to provide a space with a fresh feel, the location in Freeport is one of the first dealerships in North America to receive the revamp. Renovation of all dealers across the United States is expected to be complete by 2020, at an estimated cost of $1.5 billion.
“The team here at Jaguar Land Rover North America would like to offer congratulations to Jack Weidinger and his team at Weidinger Auto Group on their many years of support for Jaguar cars, and on the opening of their new Jaguar Land Rover Centre,” said Joe Eberhardt, president and CEO of Jaguar Land Rover North America LLC.
Weidinger, the dealership owner, gushed about the launch and shared that he was thrilled to bring the Land Rover brand to the Freeport and other South Shore communities, adding that his goal is to provide Long Island customers with a luxurious retail experience.
“We’ve had nothing but success after success. Freeport has been a part of that because it is such a great location for us — our market for Nassau County,” Weidinger said. “We’re right in the middle of the South Shore, off Sunrise Highway, which is a fantastic, busy road.”
“The village has been great in encouraging us,” he added. “Whenever we’ve had to make changes, they’ve been great to work with. It has a great draw, this location. Freeport is a great spot.”
