Hundreds of community members, including residents, business owners and elected officials, attended the Chamber of Commerce’s annual Fam Fest event at Castleton Academy High School of Oceanside on Oct. 5.
Representatives of the Oceanside Library had a booth set-up, organizing fun activities for children and families, including a trick-or-treat prize wheel, while the Oceanside Fire Department also set up a station, where the department’s Public Education and Information Officer Ed Scharfberg educated young attendees about fire safety.
Dozens of local businesses and vendors set up booths around the gym’s perimeter, including Mount Sinai South Nassau Hospital, Sherwin-Williams, Pat’s Dance Studio, LifeSpa Chiropractic & Wellness Center and a host of others.
Fam Fest was a showcase for local businesses and provided activities for the entire family. The event featured pumpkins and bales of hay as decorations, providing an autumn theme. There was also fall-themed art displayed on the walls for visitors to gaze at.
