George Frederick Handel’s Christmas Oratorio “The Messiah” at St. Agnes

Composed in the summer of 1741 and premiered in Dublin in April of 1742, “Messiah” is Handel’s most famous creation and is among the most popular works in Western choral literature. It includes the very well-known chorus, “Hallelujah!” Thousands of music lovers flock to the great music halls of Carnegie and Lincoln Center in December to hear this music. This is a special opportunity to hear this great masterwork right here in Rockville Centre. Enjoy this festive traditional music sung by the Cathedral Choir of Men and Boys, Chorale, the Master Chorale 2013, soloists and orchestra. Suggested ticket donation is $15 for adults and $10 for children. The performance will be held on Sunday, Dec. 13 at 7:30 p.m. at St. Agnes Cathedral, located at 29 Quealy Place.
