The Girlz Talk Summit, “Youth Development Conference for Young Women,” sparked lots of conversation and good times on June 4. Girls from all over the tri-state area signed up to attend workshops and panels geared towards teen and women safety and empowerment. The workshops covered a plethora of topics that included a college information session, financial guidance, and business start-up and lessons on developing healthy relationships.
The event, held at the Harry Chapin Lakeside Theatre in Eisenhower Park, was hosted by The Cedarmore Corporation in partnership with Nassau County Office of Youth Services. Girlz Talk aims to narrow the gap that exists in many communities by addressing the most pressing issues that girls face as they continue to grow and develop.
